Watching and waiting
Wondering ahead
What's there to become
Needing not to dread

In the worst of times
That's spoken what's said
What people may say
From what they have read

We don't know what's up
Ahead down the road
Hoping and praying
Don't need heavy loads

Watching the river
In the way it flows
Water rising high
For we just don't know

When it will happen
Needing not to dread
